The Las Vegas Aces Join The Nike Air Force 1 Low “WNBA” Collection

Nike’s renewed “return to sport” initiative has obvious implications for the athletic side of its business, but what about lifestyle? Taken literally, the play is to focus on PEs and lifestyle releases tied to teams in the leagues it licenses, targeting specific fanbases rather than chasing big-picture drops. The Beaverton brand’s recent Air Max 1 “City Connect” series for Major League Baseball proved that route can work, with many of those styles selling out quickly during the current season. Now the Swoosh is returning to that well for the WNBA, dropping a number of Air Force 1 Jewel styles for the league’s most prominent franchises.

What began with a “New York Liberty” colorway has quickly grown into a budding series. Multiple teams have released or plan to release exclusive team-inspired Forces through the WNBA Store, alongside a more ambiguous orange pair inspired by the league logo itself. All three of Nike’s WNBA signature athletes see their franchises represented, with the potential for more to come. Sabrina Ionescu’s New York Liberty stakes claim to a striking teal makeup, while Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever gets a compelling navy blue. The three-time champion Las Vegas Aces, home of A’ja Wilson, get an easygoing grey blend.

All “WNBA” Forces follow the AF1 “Jewel” blueprint with small jewel Swooshes embedded within the sides. Each team’s logo appears on the lateral side of the heel, joined by white WNBA logos on the backtabs and patterned insoles rooted in team iconography.

The “WNBA” and “Indiana Fever” Air Force 1s are available now via the WNBA Store. The “New York Liberty” colorway was supposed to drop at Barclays Center earlier this week but has since been pushed back, while the “Las Vegas Aces” seemingly went up online before suddenly disappearing.
