The Nike ST Charge “Wheat” Is Perfect For NYC Streetball Runs

Why is one of Nike’s dopest basketball shoes an Asia exclusive? There are some key markets out there, to be sure, but the chatter around the Nike ST Charge is getting a bit too loud to contain. While we hold out hope for a global rollout in time, the “Street Tough” hoops shoe keeps us jealous with new colorways for Fall/Holiday 2026. This “Wheat” makeup rings as a damn near perfect option for crisp autumn pickup runs, shown here via Nike officials.

Call it local bias, but we’re getting a distinctly New York feel from this one. The “Wheat” palette takes after butter Timberland boots, a longstanding fall delicacy, while the rugged “Street Tough” construction makes the shoe a perfect suitor for New York’s many outdoor courts. A molded TPU frame with embossed arrows wraps the midsole and lower half of the base, complete with forefoot cutouts for flexibility and Metallic Gold Swooshes around the heel.

The lining and tongue branding are done in black, while Bright Crimson insoles add an unintentional throughline to New York’s favorite sports team. The release gives off pretty strong NYC vibes, though some might say the ST Charge already had its New York minute via the “Detroit Tough” Cade Cunningham shoes series, one of which took on a Knicks-esque blue and orange colorway inspired by Cade’s high school.
