SBTG Nike SB Dunk Low Archive Drop

Dipping into the vault has been a hot button issue in recent sneakerdom, particularly in the wake of the Wu Tang Nike Dunk High re-issue and subsequent returns to archival pairs that’ve spawned since. Next up in the program is an unexpected one; the Singapore customizer and collaborator extraordinaire is embarking on his own crate digging endeavor, not retro-ing the SBTG x Nike SB Dunk Low but genuinely dropping off pairs from its original 2006 release.

Part of a wider “archive sale,” this renewed stock of the skateboarding product is part of the artist’s personal collection. While the second “golden age” of SB Dunks means that some of the silhouette’s devotees may not be fluent in the model’s overall history, and thus register this as a typically off-the-wall variation of the silhouette, SBTG’s design was genuinely boundary-pushing for the time, both in its hardware swaps (the added lace flap) and its heady patterning (a bevy of branding hits throughout the profile and contrasting colors on the marbled overlays and collars.)

In addition to the Nike SB Dunk Low, SBTG is rolling out a host of a slew of pairs from his backlog overall: his DC Shoes True (2009), Thrasher Buchanan (2012), New Balance 580 with Mita (2014), Thrasher Decker (2014), DC Shoes Gatsby (2014), ASICS GEL-Lyte V (2015), PUMA Clyde with Mita Sneakers (2015), and ASICS GEL-Lyte 3 with Limited Edt (2018). The multi-hyphenate hasn’t announced an official start time for this online sale — keep your eyes on his social channels for more updates.
