It’s not quite “pineapple on pizza” levels of divisive, but flare-ups surrounding candy corn are as much of a staple of spooky season as any decoration. In 2024, presumptive Finals MVP and overall superstar A’ja Wilson chipped her two cents into the conversation (sadly on the wrong side), posting to Threads: “candy corn >>> (and before you comment your opinion..irdc ?)”

As the Nike Basketball “Halloween” collection comes fully into view, the Nike A’One “Candy Corn Queen” is harkening to her love for the love-it-or-hate-it treat, joining the Book 1, KD 18, Giannis Freak 7, and GT Hustle 3 in the capsule. Even without her personal context behind it, the white/”Chrome Yellow”/”Safety Orange” gradient in the upper is clearly derived from the Halloween snack, getting even closer to the source material as it drapes A’ja’s logo on the insole. Copper branding on the tongue, heel, and Swooshes crystallizes the autumnal ties here, making for another successful conceptual pair in Nike’s spooky SZN crop.

Official images of GS sizing for the Nike A’One “Candy Corn Queen” are the only ones available for the moment, but this colorway is confirmed to be coming in adult sizing as well. Be ready for a $115 and $90 retail price, respectively.
