The Jordan Spiz’ike Low Slips Into Black “Denim”

Hot off the heels of their work on the Air Jordan 3, Levi’s has entrenched themselves anew on Jordan Brand’s speed dial list. Whether the Americana brand precipitated the current run of similar general release colorways in the Jumpman catalog or their spree through Beaverton simply coincides with a high point is a matter for another time, but the Jordan Spizike Low is the latest to get in on denim materiality in a new black colorway.

The clear on-ramp for this sort of material mixture, as we’ve seen plenty of times before, would be the basic light blue (in fairness, the Spizike Low already checked that off.) In this follow-up, the Jordan Spizike Low tests out hardier fare in an almost skate-inspired arrangement; darkened uppers and fiery trim evoke the everlasting “Bred” combination, while a white midsole and gum traction buoy that underfoot. To add some extra depth, white contrast stitching defines the whole arrangement, further supported by a pristine tongue unit that slices through.
