Nike SB Dunk Low Songkran Friends & Family

by thesneakerscroll@gmail.com

The Nike SB Dunk Low “Songkran” Friends & Family has surfaced with a louder twist on the Thai-inspired concept, pushing the already colorful story into even more exclusive territory. Nike SB has been on a strong run lately, and this alternate version builds on that momentum with a more expressive mix of textures, colors, and cultural references tied to the Solar New Year celebration.

Green woven-style overlays wrap the upper, while pink side panels and a bamboo-toned toe box keep the palette lively without losing the original theme. Bright orange-red laces add even more contrast, and the beige Swoosh helps balance the look across the sidewalls. A lotus flower hit near the heel gives the pair another standout detail, while the overall construction appears to lean further into the handcrafted inspiration behind the design.

In-hand images shared after the pair surfaced added more context to the story. This Friends & Family edition was reportedly connected to designer Heather Truong and draws from sticky rice baskets, giving the shoe a deeper cultural angle beyond just color. “Ascend” branding on the tongue ties the release to Nike’s AAPI employee network, adding another layer of meaning to an already detailed project.

The Nike SB Dunk Low “Songkran” Friends & Family is not expected to release to the public. That keeps this version as a true inner-circle pair, while the standard “Som Tom” or “Songkran” release remains the one available to the wider Nike SB audience.

For now, this exclusive edition stands as a more limited and more vibrant extension of one of Nike SB’s strongest recent storytelling drops.
