Sneaker News is marking 20 years with its first-ever sneaker collaboration, teaming with A BATHING APE on two limited BAPE STA colorways. The project centers on New York City energy, splitting the release into “Day” and “Night” editions that reflect different sides of the city.
The Sneaker News BAPE STA “Day” and “Night” pairs take opposite approaches while sharing the same new triple-stacked STA logo, a first for the BAPE STA. The “Day” edition uses an off-white base with grey suede overlays, pastel hits of mint, lavender, and sky blue, and a gum outsole for a clean streetwear feel. The “Night” colorway shifts darker with charcoal grey gradient suede, a speckled outsole, and the same pastel accents, which stand out more against the moodier upper.
Sneaker News branding appears throughout the release, including Collector Club details on the tongue. Metal lace dubraes add a premium finish, while the limited production numbers make both pairs highly collectible. The “Day” colorway is limited to 1,386 pairs, while the “Night” pair is capped at 556.
The Sneaker News BAPE STA collection releases globally through StockX on May 6th. BAPE’s New York flagship will launch the pairs on May 8th, followed by a Sneaker News pop-up powered by StockX at 70 Hester Street from May 8th to May 9th.
