For Kobe Brand, All-Star Weekend drops are almost too easy. Kobe Bryant’s eighteen All-Star Game appearances and deep archive of past ASG releases provide a ready-made blueprint, especially as the league cycles back through cities he once graced.
With the stage shifting to Phoenix in 2027, the brand is tapping into that history with the return of the Kobe 4 “All-Star” in Protro form. The colorway originally released in 2009 for that year’s All-Star Game in Phoenix, where Kobe shared co-MVP honors with longtime running mate Shaquille O’Neal. The move continues a recent trend, following February’s Kobe 6 Protro “All-Star 3D” for this year’s game in Los Angeles.

Designed to mirror the Western Conference’s red and gold uniforms, the Kobe 4 “All-Star” features a predominantly red upper with gold accents on the Kobe sheath logo and heel signature. The toe box, laces, midsole, and Swoosh are done in white, while the outsole mixes red and gold with a translucent forefoot.
Per @brandon1an, the Nike Kobe 4 Protro “All-Star” is expected to release in adult and grade school sizing during the Spring 2027 window, likely aligning with NBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix from February 19th–21st. See detailed images of the original 2009 pair below to refresh your memory.
