J Balvin’s latest Jordan Brand moment arrived during the OMERTA release party, where an unreleased J Balvin x Air Jordan 1 “Black” Sample was displayed inside a clear showcase. The triple-black pair appeared during the event celebrating Balvin and Ryan Castro’s new album, giving fans an unexpected look at another version of his 2020 Air Jordan 1 collaboration.
The sample keeps the same bold design language from the original rainbow-colored release while shifting everything into a darker, stealthier direction. Black canvas covers most of the upper, while leather lands around the Swoosh, ankle collar, and overlay areas. The jagged cut-out edges also return across the toe, heel, collar, and Swoosh, keeping Balvin’s signature playful approach intact.
Bright heel patches break up the tonal black design with a pop of color. One shoe features Balvin’s lightning-eye smiley face logo on a yellow circular badge, while the other includes a Jumpman logo in pink. The pair shown at the party also featured an OMERTA badge, tying the sample directly to the album rollout.
The timing makes the reveal even more interesting, especially with J Balvin’s next Jordan Brand project expected to arrive on the Air Jordan 4. That upcoming collaboration has already created strong buzz, and this unreleased Air Jordan 1 adds another layer to Balvin’s creative history with the brand.
No release details have been announced for the J Balvin Air Jordan 1 “Black” colorway. For now, the pair appears to be an unreleased sample, but its public display gives fans a rare look at an alternate direction from one of Jordan Brand’s most colorful collaborators.
