Nike Reimagines The Pegasus Premium SP With A Technical Twist

Nike continues to experiment with the Nike Pegasus Premium on the collaboration front, but this upcoming edition may be the silhouette’s most aggressively reworked version yet. While the standard Pegasus Premium already pushes Nike Running into a more futuristic direction through its sculpted cushioning setup and layered upper design, this new SP edition introduces an entirely different visual language.

Most notably, the shoe now features an added protective mudguard overlay wrapping around the upper, giving the silhouette a far more technical appearance. The modification almost suggests an all-weather or trail-ready functionality seen in the Roam series, although the sneaker itself doesn’t fully commit to an off-road running identity. The outsole remains unchanged from the standard Pegasus Premium, indicating the shoe is still primarily intended for on-road use despite its rugged updates.

Equally striking is the shoe’s stark color-blocking. One pair splits the sneaker almost perfectly in half, dressing the lower portion entirely in white while the upper half arrives in black. A second version reverses the formula completely. The monochromatic execution naturally draws comparisons to past Comme des Garçons x Nike collaborations, many of which similarly relied on dramatic black-and-white contrasts to create avant-garde impact.

Although not officially tied to any outside collaborator, the Pegasus Premium SP certainly carries a more abstract energy than previous inline releases of the silhouette. Expect three colorways to release soon for $220, although only two versions have surfaced thus far.
