We’re on the brink of what feels like the most anticipated NBA Finals in years, pitting the center of the basketball world against a foe that might come to define the league for years to come, and everyone is making preparations in kind. Though painted train stations may make for the bigger headlines within the general population, as always our attention is on footwear; Devin Vassell just got on the board with the first such moment before Game 1 even tips off.
Some practice sections are underway as the San Antonio Spurs prep for the first match on their home floor. Devin Vassell took to those in a gold Nike Book 2 PE, jumping ahead of Devin Booker with this first-look edition. To be sure, names like PJ Tucker have nabbed their own exclusives in the past; Vassell has favored the Suns superstar’s signatures in years past, making him a fit for similar treatment. Beyond the championship-ready gold and white colorway, this Book 2 PE advances the ball with a perforated leather build, a rare touch given the rampant use of mesh, Foamposite, or suede compositions so far in the story.
