Devin Vassell is already adding some sneaker buzz before the NBA Finals even begin.
During San Antonio Spurs practice ahead of Game 1, Vassell was spotted wearing a gold Nike Book 2 PE. The exclusive pair gives him one of the earliest on-court looks at Devin Booker’s next signature model, even before Booker has fully rolled it out himself.
Vassell wearing a Book PE makes sense. He has worn Booker’s Nike line before, and player exclusives have already started popping up on other NBA names. However, this pair stands out thanks to its championship-style gold and white colorway.
The build also separates it from previous Nike Book 2 looks. Instead of the mesh, suede, or Foamposite-style materials seen on other versions, this PE features a perforated leather upper. That gives the shoe a cleaner, more traditional hoops feel while still keeping it tied to Booker’s signature line.
With Game 1 approaching, there’s a good chance Vassell brings out the Nike Book 2 “Gold” PE again on the Finals stage. For now, the practice look gives fans an early preview of one of the first major sneaker moments of the series.
