Channing Tatum Is An Erling Haaland Lookalike In Nike Football’s Rip The Script Ad

As anticipation for the FIFA World Cup 2026 continues to build, Nike Football has unveiled a star-studded short film that serves as both a celebration of the sport’s biggest personalities and a reminder of what makes football so compelling in the first place.

The premise begins on a movie set, where a frustrated director struggles to keep control of an increasingly chaotic production. As cameras roll, Kylian Mbappé and Nike’s roster of football stars grow visibly restless, eventually abandoning the script altogether. What follows is a playful sequence of football-induced mayhem as players begin passing, dribbling, and launching balls across the set, gradually dismantling the production around them.

The cast is stacked with Swoosh-aligned celebs like Travis Scott, Kim Kardashian, LISA, Young Miko, and a host of other notable figures, while nearly every major football athlete under Nike’s banner joins the action. One of the most memorable cameos belongs to Channing Tatum, who appears as an Erling Haaland lookalike waiting for a cue from the actual Norwegian superstar.

Even Zlatan Ibrahimović, cast as a sports broadcaster within the fictional production, gets involved. The larger-than-life football icon eventually abandons his role on the desk and joins the chaos himself.

One of the film’s funnier sequences features LeBron James and Cristiano Ronaldo seated together in a conference room discussing a fictional movie centered around retirement. The tongue-in-cheek moment plays on the reality that both athletes are firmly entrenched in GOAT conversations while continuing to perform at an elite level deep into their careers.

As the set descends further into disorder, the commercial’s underlying message becomes increasingly clear. The greatest moments in football rarely come from following a script. They emerge from instinct and the freedom to create. That philosophy has long been a cornerstone of Nike Football storytelling. From its legendary “Secret Tournament” and “Joga Bonito” campaigns to its modern World Cup initiatives, Nike has consistently championed players who express themselves through the game rather than simply play within its boundaries.

The film concludes with football’s biggest stars racing toward a loose ball before a young player emerges from the pack, only for Haaland to arrive moments later and unleash a thunderous strike.
