The Big Bubble moment never truly receded; it’s only changed shape. Across collabs, in-line efforts, and various special editions, 2025 truly was the year of the Nike Air Max 95, as the Swoosh gave in to fervent fan demand and brought back the chunky OG cushioning that Air Max purists had been demanding for so long. While the typical slate of grey gradient spin-offs has remained a monthly topic on our end, the silo’s “sophomore year” has been one where it’s begun to let its hair down just a bit.
ovel colorway inventions are likely the most notable for the consumer, but with the standard composition now well-established, tinkered tooling is creeping up as a priority of its own. The Nike Air Max 95 Tech is one such case. With the Air Max 95 Ultra proving a bit paradoxical for this moment, its sleek, streamlined take on the silhouette running counter to that Big Bubble emphasis, the Tech has instead taken over as a futuristic flange alongside the base sneaker.
Thinned protrusions on the quarter take the place of the usual stacked suede arrangement, though this pair nods to that legacy with a grey ombre atop translucent siding. White leather toe boxes align with the sole units before baby blue eyelets and Air units round out a chilly colorway for the budding offshoot.
The Nike Air Max 95 Tech “Smoke Grey/Football Blue” should be coming to Nike channels in the next several weeks. Though a hard and fast date isn’t confirmed, a $200 MSRP is. Catch detailed images below and watch our Sneaker Release Dates landing page if you’re moved to pick these up once released.
