The Air Jordan 5 has predictably been one of Jordan Brand’s most important silhouettes in 2025, celebrating its 35th anniversary with bring-backs of three of its four original colorways (technically two, since one was a reimagined release) and a key collaboration with Awake NY.
For this celebratory “35th Anniversary” edition, Jordan Brand blends classic AJ5 hallmarks with a few fresh details. The color blocking closely mirrors the original silver-tongued Jordan 5 “Fire Red,” but swaps in “Medium Soft Pink” as the main accent shade. Collegiate-style “23” text on the lateral heel uses a font true to 1990 — a detail most recently seen on the black-tongue “Fire Red” 5s retro.
The Air Jordan 5 was the first basketball sneaker to feature 3M, and the “35th Anniversary” edition amplifies that legacy. The entire upper is constructed from reflective white leather, giving the shoe some serious flash under the lights.
