Seen with the Nike Air Max 95000, Nike is beginning to really take the gloves off when it comes to Sergio Lozano’s design. If the OG bring-backs and modified new colorways that graced the “Big Bubble” build made for a faithful first act, now we’re treated to wilder steps beyond; the Nike Air Max 95 Zip is another branch of that effort.
This fresh build revitalizes the 2001 offshoot, then titled the “Air Max 95 Z.” In those early-aughts looks, the shoe often featured all-leather compositions—a weather-friendly touch that aligned with its protective outer coating around the tongue. Shifting to suede obviously connects better to the ’95 icon and its range of grey-gradient editions, alternatively presenting a more fashion-forward look that satisfies those looking for retro sportstyle. Though the original run did indeed include at least one all-black colorway, this is a fresher invention rather than a bring-back; icy blue cushioning underfoot further sets this one apart.
Despite this official image update, the Nike Air Max 95 Zip “Black” still doesn’t have a concrete release date. Trust that we’ll keep this page and our Sneaker Release Dates hub up to date once that becomes concrete.
