With the recent rise in popularity of mid-1990s era turf-training footwear, Reebok ought to pump up the volume by bringing back some of their Preseason icons. In fact, the English sportswear brand was arguably the king of that category during the decade, yet we’ve only seen a limited number of of pairs escape the vault. That’s about to change with 1995’s Reebok Brutus Lo.
Returning to market for the first time since its original launch, the Reebok Brutus and Brutus Lo was a key figure in the Preseason series, appearing in advertisements with the game’s top athletes. Below is a print-ad of the silhouette with star linebacker Ken Norton, who at the time of the launch played for the San Francisco 49ers.
This begs the question: if the Brutus Lo is coming back, will we see the Brutus Mid? The mid-top version of the silhouette, which features the mega-popular Z-shaped mid-foot strap, could also be making a return sometime in 2026.
