The latest example arrives via the Nike Air Diamond Turf 2 inspired by the Kansas City Royals, the franchise that originally drafted Sanders at the start of his professional baseball journey. While Deion’s time on the diamond is often associated with his stints alongside the Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves, this release turns back the clock even further, highlighting a lesser-referenced chapter of his career.
The colorway reflects that heritage, pulling from the Royals’ classic palette to dress the mid-90s training silhouette in that throwback-uni look. It touches on that powder blue, navy, and white mix that made KC’s uniforms one of the greatest in sports history. Behind the tongue reads “Sixteen Twenty Five”, possibly a connection to Terry Park where Deion honed his game as a child.
As Nike continues to revisit Sanders’ signature catalog, releases like this serve a bigger purpose to tell the lesser-known stories of arguably the best two-sport athlete ever. Expect these Deion Sanders shoes to launch Summer 2026 for $170.
