Vans could rest on its laurels and probably be just fine, but the brand hasn’t been playing it safe, and it’s paying off. Recent seasons have delivered an array of deeply nuanced designs from both in-house teams and collaborators, generating plenty of buzz and positioning Vans as a key brand to watch in 2026. What we’re watching today is FDMTL’s Fall/Winter 2026 runway show from a few weeks back, where the premium Japanese denim label debuted a number of Authentics of true “Off The Wall” spirit.
Pictured below are several Authentic styles featuring split tabi-toe construction, a pretty dramatic departure from Vans’ skate legacy and head-first dive into high fashion. The tabi-toe look is trending at the highest levels of footwear, a la the Margielas of the world, but sneaker brands have also shown interest in tapping in, namely Nike with the resurgent Air Rift.
White, light blue, and patchwork tabi-toe Authentics were all previewed at FDMTL’s runway show, alongside a patchwork Slip-On and potentially even more styles. No release info has been announced, but all are expected to land sometime later this year. See detailed images below and stay tuned for updates.
