Lil Uzi Vert’s first collection with Vans, set to release in 2027, is diving headfirst into vintage skate culture instead of opting for a simple artist capsule collection.
The primary silhouette fully embraces that puffy skate silhouette. We’ve seen it rendered in pink-on-black and pink-on-white so far, but expect a pillow-cushioned cupsole, rounded silhouetted upper, checkerboard alternative laces, and bulbous form Vans logos stitched across the heel. The shoe dabbles less with Vans narrower vulcanized silhouette and instead nods toward bulbous silhouettes popular in emo and pop-punk culture.
According to the available photos, the silhouette is yet to be named by Vans. Looks mostly similar to the archival Weston but we could be wrong. Speaking of which, Uzi’s signature “LUV” tag sewn onto the lace panel provides an obvious artist signature without taking too much real estate on the shoe.
The Slip-On is perhaps a more expected shoe for Vans, but it still plays by the same color way rules. Pink and black checkerboards make up the shoe’s upper, while the insoles sport the text “by lil uzi vert” and OTW logos are customized to fit the scheme.
Even before all the details of Lil Uzi Vert’ debut drop for Vans have been revealed, his knack for skate gear, splashy color ways, and early aughts styling gave us a good indication of what the capsule would look like. Stay tuned for more updates.
