First Look At The ASICS GEL-Teremoa II

To put it bluntly, ASICS isn’t afraid to get weird. It’s why their partnership with Kiko Kostadinov has gone over so well, affording the Ukrainian designer all the space needed to push the form of the running category, resulting in zany, unexpected fare like the ASICS mules he’s continually penned.

Yet that energy remains even in the mainline, perhaps most obviously with the “visible tech” of the GEL-Quantum series. Exposing their GEL cushioning has made for alien-like forms across its various iterations, yet that claim to fame got hidden with the GEL-Teremoa. Enveloping the opaque sole tech in a cage, that shoe sets the foundation for its sequel, now revealed in the GEL-Teremoa II.

Overall, many of its predecessor’s contours remain, leaving the biggest developments in the margins. Most notably, the shape of the sole changes pretty severely, leading to a thinned low-pro height at the forefoot while keeping the chunky pronouncement in place below the heel. Materially, a full mesh upper pushes into the ASICS logo, which bears striated textures opposed to the debossed build from the 1. Two earthy colorways are on tap for this initial delivery, in flooded “Moss Stone” and “Dark Gull Grey.”
