Basketball nostalgia heads back to the big screen as Space Jam returns to AMC Theatres on May 20th for its 30th anniversary. The 1996 classic remains one of the most memorable blends of hoops, animation, and pop culture, led by Michael Jordan alongside the Looney Tunes.
AMC is celebrating the anniversary with themed collectibles made for the theater experience. Fans will be able to grab a collectible basketball cup that plays into the film’s court-inspired theme, along with a “Game Time” popcorn bucket designed with a basketball setup look.
Space Jam’s return also connects with a bigger anniversary push across sneakers and entertainment. Jordan Brand is expected to release new footwear tied to the film’s legacy later this year, including two Space Jam-inspired Air Jordan 11 styles and the “Space Jam” Air Jordan 9.
The film’s influence still reaches across sneaker culture, sports storytelling, and ‘90s nostalgia. From its original soundtrack to its lasting connection with Jordan Brand, Space Jam continues to hold a unique place in basketball history.
