Hokusai’s The Great Wave Off Kanagawa lands on the adidas Adizero EVO SL in a way that feels more restrained than literal. The pair is currently listed on atmos for May 15, 2026, with early release details suggesting a likely Japan-exclusive drop.
The adidas Adizero EVO SL “The Great Wave Off Kanagawa” uses a grey upper as the base, keeping the shoe quiet around the artwork. Wave graphics cut through the Three Stripes, making the side branding the clearest reference to Hokusai’s Edo-period print.
A pink and red gradient breaks up the muted look near the corner, while one rowboat appears on the lateral side. The original artwork includes three, so narrowing that detail to one boat gives the design a sharper focus around struggle, movement, and endurance.
The Adizero EVO SL already has a lean shape, and that helps the concept avoid feeling like a full souvenir-style artwork print. Most of the shoe stays simple, leaving the wave detail to carry the story.
