Nike is not done with the “Panda” Dunk just yet. For Fall 2026, the brand is expected to release a new Nike Dunk Low “Panda Patent” that gives the familiar black-and-white colorway a glossy update.
As expected, this iteration maintains the same simple color blocking that helped propel the original “Panda” Dunk to become one of the most worn sneakers in recent memory. The differentiation is made through materials, substituting black patent leather in place of the traditional leather overlays for a cleaner, more reflective look.
The toe box, side panels, collar, and tongue feature white leather, maintaining a strong resemblance to the original design. Black patent leather makes its appearance on the mudguard, eyestays, Swoosh, heel overlay and heel tab. To finish the shoe, there’s a black rubber outsole, white midsole, black laces, and the signature Nike branding.
Nike incorporates some small details that set this release apart from your average “Panda” Dunk. The interior white and tongue piping open the shoe up a bit, while the glossy overlays dress up the otherwise simplistic two-tone look.
Arguably the most ubiquitous Dunk colorway to date has made the “Panda” Dunk one of Nike’s most controversial recent releases. But demand for black and white Dunks persists because they’re timeless, easy to style, and readily identifiable as a Dunk. This patent leather iteration feels like Nike doubling down on that demand with a slight variation.
The Nike Dunk Low “Panda Patent” will be released Fall 2026 via Nike.com and select retailers. The price has not been confirmed but will likely debut just above the standard $120 retail price of a Dunk Low.
