Did you know that Brain Dead has its own wrestling promotion? It’s true; the Los Angeles-based streetwear imprint founded Brain Slam Wrestling in 2022 as a means to pay homage to and advance the sport’s culture. Now the brand’s passion for wrestling is bleeding over to footwear; Brain Dead has an adidas Japan collection consisting of three fiery styles dropping August 28th.
The collection takes inspiration from the wrestling boots of BSW main-eventer “Big Bad” Brody King, currently a member of All Elite Wrestling and well-known for his work in New Japan Pro Wrestling. The adidas Japan is here given three fiery-makeovers, including low-top brown/yellow and black/purple colorways as well as a black/grey/olive green high-top.
The headlining design motif is consistent throughout; fiery suede graphics wrap the toe and heel of each shoe, followed by leather underlays and then what appears to be nylon at the base. The low-tops both feature leather stripes, while the high switches things up with fabric material. All three sneakers come with fabric laces and gold adidas x Brain Dead co-branding on the quarter.
The Brain Dead x adidas Japan wrestling collection releases in limited quantities on August 28th and will be available via CONFIRMED, adidas.com, select adidas stores, select retailers, and the Brain Dead website. The low-tops come in at $140 each, while the high retails for See on-white images of all three styles below if you’re considering copping.
