A sneaker’s first collaboration is inarguably its most important, and New Balance knows it. The Boston brand has tapped Aminé for honor of the first global New Balance 2000 collab, and they’re going all-out to ensure a splashy release. On top of a book drive activation to support the drop of the green “Bilbioteca” Aminé New Balance 2000 on October 4th, the two parties have announced an additional, super-limited colorway that will only be available via giveaway.
Those attending Aminé’s The Best Day Ever festival in his hometown of Portland, Oregon on September 13th-14th can enter to win a fruity multi-color New Balance 2000, unveiled here by Aminé on his socials. Bright neon shades of blue, pink, orange, and yellow work in tandem to produce a true neck-breaker, aptly echoing the signage for the event. Note that entering for the sneaker requires you to pre-order a pair of the “Bilbioteca” colorway at the festival, which is the only way to guarantee a pair at retail.
Aminé’s “Bilbioteca” is technically the second New Balance 2000 collaboration we’ve seen thus far, preceded by a super-limited pink pair by Joe Freshgoods that dropped exclusively on the streets of Paris.
