Salomons can now be copped at the biggest sneaker retail chain in the United States. Beginning July 19, Foot Locker will welcome Salomon to its growing assortment, bringing the French label’s coveted Sportstyle collection to the shelves of the most recognizable sneaker store in history. The launch includes some of Salomon’s most popular silhouettes including the XT-6, XT-6 GORE-TEX, and XT-WHISPER; these three models that have successfully bridged the gap between technical outdoor performance and modern street style.
Originally designed for trail running, each silhouette reflects Salomon’s decades-long expertise in performance footwear. Over the last several years, the brand has emerged as one of fashion’s most influential names, embraced by sneaker enthusiasts for its distinctive aesthetic and credited for spearheading the gorpcore movement. Michelle Wang, Senior Vice President and Chief Merchant at Foot Locker, called Salomon “a key addition” to the retailer’s expanding brand portfolio, pointing to the brand’s growing influence in street style and its alignment with Foot Locker’s goal of remaining “the ultimate destination for sneaker culture.”
For Salomon, the partnership represents another milestone in the brand’s rapid growth across the U.S. marketplace. Laura Stauth, Senior Vice President of Wholesale at Salomon, described the collaboration as “a defining moment” for the brand, adding that Foot Locker will help introduce Salomon’s unique blend of performance and design to even more consumers who are helping shape today’s sneaker culture.
To celebrate the launch, Foot Locker and Salomon will host a farmer’s market-inspired pop-up at Foot Locker’s 22 East 14th Street location in New York City on August 1. The public event will combine community programming with immersive product discovery, giving visitors an opportunity to experience the new partnership firsthand.
