Pushead Nike SB Dunk High Sample

by thesneakerscroll@gmail.com

Pushead’s Nike SB Dunk legacy is etched in sneaker history, and now unreleased 2012 samples are adding to the story. Known for his chaotic, bleached-style art, the graphic designer collaborated with Nike SB twice before, leaving behind some of the most collectible Dunks in the line’s history.

These newly surfaced pairs show what could have been. Instead of sticking only with the Low, Nike and Pushead also tested a Dunk High using his signature dark marbled patterns. The upper combines washed textile panels with black suede overlays, creating a burnt, almost cosmic aesthetic. A skeletal fishbone logo lands near the heel as a quiet stamp of Pushead’s unmistakable style. Gum soles complete the look, adding the skate-ready durability SB fans expect.

Seeing the High samples from the Pushead x Nike SB Dunk Low “Bleached” is almost surreal in a way, especially when taking into consideration how sought-after that original Low went when it was released back in 2012. For obvious reasons, that specific Low is seen as a staple for collectors. However, seeing these His makes me wonder just how different the SB scene would be if both pairs were released. I can only assume that many would have seen more potential in the High instead, simply because of more “canvas” for Pushead’s pieces.

While these remain unreleased samples, their existence keeps Pushead’s Nike SB story alive. Whether they’ll ever see a proper release is still uncertain.
