A “Chrome Swoosh” Shines On The Nike Air Force 1 Low

Market saturation be damned. The Air Force 1 remains as big of a part of our coverage as it honestly ever has been, but the tenor has shifted from humdrum, run-of-the-mill general releases to special editions like the Squair Toe, a remix of the “Savage Beast,” or the “Shoe Dog” Air Force 1, and, though often just as accessible, to material experimentations that further push the boundaries of Bruce Kilgore’s design.

Does the colorway at hand cleanly fit in either category? Perhaps not, seeing as the “Jewel Swoosh” build is one that’s been known to fans for decades, already seeing some serious burn throughout the 2010s. However, it does speak to a newfound aversion to complacency with which Beaverton has approached the model, tending to need at least one new twist or trick on the silhouette rather than simple color-ups. For its part, this one pushes the envelope by replacing translucent, gem-like textures with shimmering silver ones, providing some refined contrast to what’s otherwise a fully blacked-out profile.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Chrome Swoosh” should be hitting shelves in short order, retailing for $125.
