The battle for ComplexCon 2026 is officially underway. Early leaked info points to well over a dozen sneaker releases for the convention’s tenth anniversary, with Nike, Vans, adidas, and more all vying to steal the show with early and exclusive collaborations. BBC Ice Cream and Reebok are checking in with a strong entry of their own, releasing a Board Flip “Japanese Beer Pack” inspired some of the country’s most well-known brews, including a silver colorway limited to 500 units and an even more elusive gold option.
ComplexCon 2026 marks something of a milestone for the Board Flip. It was at last year’s convention that the model made its big return, later coming back in a number of original colorways. As noted by @sneakerdenn, who broke news of the “Japanese Beer Pack,” this release marks a number of firsts for the silhouette. First and foremost is the cones & bones logo on the heel, or lack thereof. For the first time ever, the model drops that defining branded hit, replacing it with a similarly styled beer mug. Patent leather uppers draw from aluminum beer cans, while semi-translucent outsoles mimic the opacity of a fresh pour. Last but not least, Japanese characters spelling out “Ice Cream” appear on the insoles.
The silver colorway immediately calls to mind Asahi, Sapporo, and any number of well-known Japanese beers packaged in silver cans. Just 500 units will be available at ComplexCon (taking place October 3rd-4th) at Booth D20 while supplies last.
The gold colorway takes after premium or “reserve” brews, and that more special identity is reflected in its far more limited production run. The Gold pair is limited to just 25 numbered pairs worldwide and will be available to win through the Japanese toy vending machine inside the booth. Complimentary tokens will be given to those who purchase the silver pair, while additional tokens can also be purchased separately.
