Bad Bunny’s adidas partnership took a surprising turn earlier this year when the pop superstar outfitted Team Puerto Rico with special BadBo 1.0 Cleats for the World Baseball Classic, a pair that we later learned will eventually receive a public release. To add, this weekend confirmed that the creation wasn’t a one-off. Kiké Hernández, one of several Puerto Rico players who received the original cleated Bad Bunny shoe back in March, took the field in a never-before-seen mint colorway.
The Los Angeles Dodgers super-utility man may have planned to debut his new Bad Bunny cleats earlier in the season, but only recently returned from a Grade 3 left oblique strain that sidelined him for much of the year. Kiké’s new pair features a neutral foundation with mint green accents, the pastel shade landing across the suede side panels and various leather underlays.
Baseball fans will recognize Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox and Kiké’s former stomping grounds, as a fitting place to unveil any green sneaker given the obvious Green Monster connection. That said, this soft mint shade couldn’t be much further removed from the left-field wall’s famously deep green hue.
