Larry June’s adidas Adistar Control 5 “Watermelon Smoothie” Drops On September 9th

Larry June has always been health and wellness focused, from his personal life to the subject matter in his lyrics. For anyone who’s heard him wax poetic about “eatin’ on these crumpets” or “espresso shots while [counting] on this paper,” it’s no surprise that a similarly luxurious vittle is in focus for his first earnest Three Stripes collab: the Larry June x adidas Adistar Control 5 “Watermelon Smoothie.”

Since inking a deal with the German giant, Larry June has been closely associated with the Adistar Control 5, serving as a face of its debut campaign for its first few inline looks. From there, he began teasing a citrus-coated shared design, though fans may have been disappointed by word that this original design was friends and family only.

The “Watermelon Smoothie” finally brings the California native’s touch to the public. A white-to-red gradient takes over the base, with vivacious hits of green and yellow interspersed throughout the sole unit, branding, and laces. In a particularly effective choice, the bottommost eyelet panel switches between a light grey and a dark counterpart from the medial to the lateral sides. It’s only fitting that the announcement spot features June wearing his shoe, putting together the titular treat with a zany assortment of tools.

Again, the Larry June x adidas Adistar Control 5 “Watermelon Smoothie” will release via a raffle on September 9th, lasting from 9 AM to 3 PM PST.
