Nike Brings Sheer Fabrics To The Hybrid Air Max Joga Bonito

Perhaps it was only a matter of time before the two intersected; the Nike Air Max Joga Bonito fusing those dueling priorities with a new “Black/Varsity Red” colorway.

If this is your first encounter with the mash-up silhouette, we couldn’t fault you for thinking the silhouette at hand is the brainchild of a social media customizer, having stolen the sole unit from a 110 and pinned it to the upper of the Mercurial R9. In truth, perhaps the wavy geometry of the Ronaldo-worn model makes it a subconscious fit for this hybrid application. Oregon’s Ducks of a Feather already teased similar aesthetics with their 97/95.

Again showcasing how the reverberations of the World Cup will be felt far after the final showdown at MetLife, this Black/University Red colorway for the Air Max Joga Bonito largely builds off of all-black, only departing from that shade with fiery flares in the sole and white Swoosh cutting across the quarter. However, it’s the material choices that really lend this pair depth. Shimmering thin synthetics are applied from heel to toe, lending almost a camouflage pattern to this tanky hybrid.
