Reebok Touts The DMX Series 3000 As “The Shoe That Beat Nike Air Max”

Much attention has been paid to the revival of Reebok Basketball, stamping one of the genre’s originators in the modern game with Angel Reese as its true face, but also expressed through their Engine A and a recently-minted partnership with Zellerfeld. Their lifestyle side, however, has increasingly turned over stones from previously untouched corners of their history, from the return of collab product like the Board Flip or G-Unit to a focus on the souped-up DMX series.

The Reebok DMX Series 3000 has shined in its bring-back, making a splashy entrance with a Brain Child collab pair before dropping off its own general release stunners. For the Reebok DMX 3000 “Chalk/Vector Blue,” it’s likely the peripherals that are the most attention-grabbing. To be sure, this blend of classically sport off-white/black/blue is plenty effective, particularly as fans of aquatic hues peek through the mesh foundation. However, in the promo effort for this pair, Reebok brings back an era-accurate motto, first attached to the DMX run: “Test The Shoe That Beat Nike Air Max.”

Surely we’ve seen similar shots across the bow between big brands before, from Jayson Tatum’s “Don’t Stop Disbelieving” to Anthony Edwards’ arcade-themed roasts of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Victor Wembanyama, or the Joker. However, it’s far rarer to see this direct call-out. To their benefit, there’s only way to see if Reebok’s product stands up to that weighty claim: by giving in to their call to action.
