Nike SB Made A Friends & Family Version Of The Songkran Dunks

by thesneakerscroll@gmail.com

Nike SB is already on a series hot streak, knocking out two standout, skate-aligned editions that champion the sub-brand’s ethos; Dashawn Jordan’s and Bronx Girls Skate’s colorways each marked instant sell-outs. Though no less sentimental in its narrative, the Nike SB “Som Tom” or “Songkran” is the latest for the SB brand, once again flexing their ability to turn disparate storylines and eccentric inspo into some serious heat.

As a friends & family version of the Nike SB Dunk Low “Songkran” comes to light, it’s a reminder of the cultural ties that run beneath. Nike’s Samantha Maklang flexed the exclusive edition at a skate event centered on the Solar New Year, offering several angles of the inner circle variation. The strongest ties back to the general release version come with the gum soles and beige bamboo foundation, though the silverware flashes are here in spirit; the collar shifts into a shining cobalt tone for this F&F version. Elsewhere, proud green overlays and a magenta window at the quarter instantly mark these as a more expressive version of the Thai-inspired GR pair.

Of course, you’ll already need some serious connections to grab the Nike SB “Songkran,” but you can check them out from afar via the images below.
