Sneaker Politics’ adidas L.A. Trainer Collab Hits On Festival Culture

by thesneakerscroll@gmail.com

Seemingly, anyone who’s anyone under the age of 40 was in attendance for Coachella in the past few weeks. Indo’s crown jewel is undoubtedly the face of modern “festival culture,” but Sneaker Politics is aiming to remind the world of the storied chapters preceding via their adidas L.A. Trainer collaboration.

Even in the name, the Louisiana retailer begins with a winking nod to the California institution. Yet in their own worlds, the royal purple edition featured here instead looks to establishments like Woodstock and their hometown’s New Orleans Jazzfest, with particular attention paid to the maximalist posters utilized to promote them. Pops of blue and bright pink in the adjustable cushioning system serve as a pseudo-palette, representing the expressive, saturated tones that run throughout the shoe. And in their initial teaser of this collaboration, Politics adds some tongue-in-cheek detailing; a cinched, co-branded “VIP” wristband plays off of their Jay-Z-derived store motto.

The Sneaker Politics x adidas LA Trainer releases exclusively via the retailer on April 27th, retailing for $130. The EQL raffle is already open; get your entries in now if you’re after this latest 20th anniversary link-up.
