Bold, radical, and unequivocally subversive, AVAVAV’s reimagination of the adidas Superstar is both controversial (see all the “clown shoe” comments) and a welcome breath of fresh air in a sneaker collab space defined by too many mere color touchups. Coming May 22nd alongside two adidas Megaride styles is another duo: a classic colorway and an all-new pony hair build.
The first style lets the reimagined silhouette do all the talking, arriving in clean black leather with white stripes. Its counterpart is the real star of the delivery, led by taupe pony hair on the sides and tongue and brown pony hair on the stripes and backtab. A pre-distressed midsole rounds things out on a shoe that’s already dripping in character.
