Nike took note of the fashion crowd gravitating toward Margiela Tabis and said bet. The tabi-toed Air Rift has since become a genuine focus for the brand, checking off unique style after unique style and getting a major boost from Kim Kardashian’s NikeSKIMS version. Nike’s most recent SNKRS Verified dump confirmed the next step: a revival of the Air Rift 2, originally released in 2002, starting with its “Kenya” colorway. Now there’s another to report.
Official images reveal an almost monochrome Air Rift 2 in “Summit White/Swan/Light Silver/Ice Blue,” the Ice Blue shade doing the accent work on the forefoot Swooshes and insoles. The Air Rift 2 dropped six years after the original and looks drastically different, trading the Great Rift Valley-inspired midsole for a chunkier build with smoothed-out surfaces and cleaner lines. The elastic strap system gives way to a snugger mesh bootie, ventilated mesh wraps both sides, and the split tabi toe, a hallmark of the Air Rift line, remains intact. Importantly, while the original Air Rift has seen its various peaks and valleys (pun intended), the Air Rift 2 has never gotten a retro run until now.
The Nike Air Rift 2 “Summit White” drops Summer 2026 exclusively in women’s sizes. No pricing has been announced, though the original Air Rift currently retails for $125 for reference. See official images below and hit our Sneaker Release Dates page for more.
