Collaborations between Hong Kong and Japan have always been a cornerstone of streetwear, and thankfully that train of thought continues to stay strong. With its sights set on Tokyo, CLOT reconnects with BAPE to deliver a refreshed take on the classic BOLA STA.
Instead of leaning on the traditional fit and design of the Ape-era shoe, this release focuses on the BOLA STA silhouette: a plumper low-top with a cleaner, more modern profile. The shoe is presented in a vibrant red canvas upper, contrasted by burgundy accents around the mudguard and heel stack. Completing the look is a color-matched BAPE STA star that spans across the shoe’s sidewall, cream interior lining, and a beefy midsole.
Minimalism continues down the branding route, as BAPE STA tags the heel tab, while the Ape Head badge stamps over the lateral heel. The pair is finished with silver lace dubrae to tie the premium look together. On the interior, custom insoles are printed with collab graphics.
Feet first, the molded sock-like sole unit features multi-panel construction with a gum outsole and windowed midfoot exposing graphic detail.
