Converse SHAI 001 Lace-Up Colorways

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s breakout season keeps expanding beyond trophies and into footwear, as the Converse SHAI 001 continues to evolve in real time. His signature model has already positioned itself as a key player in Converse Basketball’s lineup, and now it’s entering a more experimental phase.

The upcoming “Camo” colorway signals that shift, showing a willingness from both SGA and Converse Hoops to push design boundaries. However, it’s what Shai wore courtside that really sparked attention. During a matchup between the Thunder and Celtics, he unveiled a new lace-up version of the SHAI 001 that removes the model’s signature shroud. In its place, the shoe leans into a more traditional construction, highlighted by neutral-toned overlays that reshape its overall identity.

This isn’t entirely new territory. A similar lace-up pair previously surfaced on Shai’s Instagram, featuring a louder mix of colors and patterns. That version felt more like a one-off concept, but it hinted early at a direction Converse might explore further.

Whether this updated build becomes widely available remains unclear. Still, the move shows Converse is open to evolving SGA’s first signature beyond its original blueprint. As his influence grows, the SHAI 001 is shaping up to be more than just a debut model—it’s becoming a platform for ongoing design experimentation.
