Given how iconic the Chuck Taylor is, Converse is betting that some fans – likely those with deeper pockets – will be willing to pay top dollar for a more premium version. The brand revived and revamped its First String line last year after nearly a decade of dormancy, already checking off a number of impressive styles across a wide range (and even earning a co-sign from LeBron James). Up next is what Converse is calling its most “craft-forward” Chuck Taylor All-Star yet, an all-new woven style arriving in May 2026.
This pair features a hand-woven leather upper made with materials sourced from Italy, presented in brown leather with scattered black and white fabric worked into the sides. Like all First String releases, the build is focused on longevity and improved comfort, complete with a Vibram outsole and Nike Air cushioning in the midsole.
Interested parties can expect a May 5th release via select global retailers. Pricing is set at $200.
In other Converse news, the UNDEFEATED Chuck 70 “Dodgers” drops April 25th.
