Few athletes have “it” right now like Anthony Edwards. His charisma and on-court explosiveness still moves the needle for hoops fans, and although it seems he’ll be out of the Playoffs for the foreseeable future due to injury, Ant-man is still that battery that brings energy to the Timberwolves’ championship hopes.
Right in the middle of the first round of the Playoffs, a first look at the adidas Anthony Edwards 3 signature shoe is revealed. Edwards’ third signature model continues the line’s reputation as one of the strongest performers in the category, and the AE 3 appears to double down on what’s already working while refining its on-court identity.
The silhouette sticks with a low-cut design, a departure from the mid-cut stances of the AE1 and AE2 parent model (not counting the Low). The exterior features a shell with forward-pointing angles suggesting nothing but forward motion and no brakes. Underfoot, the model is expected to feature Lightstrike Pro cushioning, a new traction pattern, and the return of a propulsive wish-bone shaped plate.
This first look comes in a bold Lucid Pink colorway with hits of College Purple and Bliss Lilac. It’s unclear if this will be the launch colorway due to history suggesting more of an Atlanta-focused theme, but this statement-making palette that fits within the growing visual identity of Edwards’ line.
This adidas Anthony Edwards 3 “Lucid Pink” is currently expected to release on November 20th for $130, with an official rollout likely beginning in September as adidas builds momentum around one of its most important signature athletes. There’s also a matching Anthony Edwards Mule that is expected to drop alongside the third cycle.
