First Look At The Air Jordan 8 “Knicks”

The New York Knicks are NBA champions, and Jordan Brand couldn’t have picked a better year to deliver a Knicks-inspired Air Jordan Retro. First leaked back in December 2025, the Air Jordan 8 “Knicks” has finally surfaced in first-look official images ahead of its expected Holiday 2026 release.

Interest surrounding the pair (and anything else remotely resembling the Knicks colors) has understandably grown considerably since then, fueled by New York capturing its first NBA championship in more than five decades.

The shoe arrives with a full black suede upper, allowing familiar Knicks shades of orange and blue to provide contrast throughout the upper and mudguard detailing. The way the upper is color-blocked is, quite frankly, exactly what most would have wanted.

The midsole lets orange be far more prominent as it paints half of the bottoms for a higher contrast. Unofficial mock-ups of the Jordan 8 “Knicks” circulated by sneaker leakers previously depicted the shoe with a predominantly black midsole, creating a noticeably different look from the finished product.

It’s also a perfect example of the strange influence sneaker mock-ups now have on the release cycle. Months before a shoe actually exists publicly, an unofficial rendering can establish an expectation for what consumers think they’re getting. When the real product eventually appears, disappointment can follow even though Jordan Brand never promised the imaginary version in the first place.

Regardless, Knicks fever should give this pair plenty of momentum heading into the holidays because the Air Jordan 8 “Knicks” is currently expected to release December 24th for $215, arriving in a special blue version of the classic Jordan “face” box.
