To celebrate two major milestones simultaneously, Kith, adidas Football, and Lionel Messi are officially joining forces for an expansive collaborative collection that bridges performance football, luxury fashion, and one of the most iconic careers in sports history.
The partnership commemorates the 20th anniversary of Messi’s debut on the global stage alongside Kith’s own 15th Anniversary celebration. But rather than focusing solely on apparel or footwear, the collection aims to tell the full story of Messi’s legacy both on and off the pitch. Ronnie Fieg and Messi reportedly met multiple times over the course of a year to collaboratively shape the assortment, resulting in one of the most ambitious football-inspired projects Kith has ever undertaken.
The on-pitch offering pulls heavily from defining moments throughout Messi’s career, including 2006-inspired kits featuring his original number 19 alongside updated number 10 jerseys tied to his legendary rise into global superstardom. Supporting pieces include goalkeeper kits, warm-up gear, footballs, and accessories layered with Kith, adidas Football, and Messi branding throughout.
Off the pitch, the collection leans further into elevated tailoring and luxury sportswear through double-breasted suiting, wool tracksuits, washed denim sets, and premium accessories designed through Kith’s lifestyle lens.
Footwear plays a central role as well; the six-shoe lineup includes the return of the adidas COPA Mundial 17 UltraBOOST from Kith and adidas Football’s original 2017 partnership, alongside the futuristic adidas F50 Megaride, the archival-inspired F50 Walkable Cleat, two premium Handball Spezial colorways, and a deconstructed Superstar.
The project positions Messi less as simply a football athlete and more as a universal cultural figure. The campaign film, titled The International Language of Messi, reinforces that concept directly by showcasing commentators across multiple languages reacting to his most iconic moments, emphasizing that regardless of where you are in the world, “Messi” remains universally understood.
